Next tuesday we’re doing some laser work + videomapping for the grand opening of WanderLust, a fresh nightclub/bar/restaurant in Paris.
So I needed a fast plugin to quickly visualize an Audio Frequency Structure coming from Kineme Audio Tools
and thought I could share. Uses VertexArrays internally.
You’ll need KnM Audio Tools for the bundled example to run properly.
10.5+, UB, DL from the box.

Fun with the flock
Posted in experimental with tags flock, particle, qcplugin on March 22, 2012 by Francois WunschelI’m currently polishing a nice little flocking particles plugin.
Experimenting with behaviors such as Vortex, Wind, Go_to_target (mmmmm QCstructures input …).
The initial maths are lamely based on a Cinder tutorial, but I ended up recoding evrything myself, for the sake of learning.
The next goal is to distribute particles evenly on a 3d face (not just on points or edges, any pointers to code welcome btw).
The good thing is that the rendering is fast enough to render twice per frame, allowing to play it back in realtime on a 3d TV … that we just got at the office.
_1024_CameraCorrection QCplugin
Posted in QC plugins, quartz composer with tags openGL, qcplugin on January 3, 2012 by Francois WunschelQuartz Composer plugin to correct the perspective of a camera.
Allows to look up or down and then correct the verticals of the openGL scene to make them appear straight and parallel to the screen.
This mimics the camera correction module from 3dsMax.

_1024_Image_to_Sound 1.2
Posted in QC plugins, quartz composer with tags image, qcplugin, quart, sound on September 3, 2010 by Francois WunschelBugfix 1.2 version.
Bangnoise and GT kindly noted that the initial plugin would NOT go through start:/stop: execution cycle.
It was a stupid bug on my side, it actually took 2 minutes to fix, less than the time to write this post.
Stop/Start the comp, Enable/Disable the plugin, now all working correctly.
Thanks Tom + Georges for noting this.
Download the updated version.
_1024_ParticleWarfare QCPlugin
Posted in QC plugins, quartz composer with tags motion detect, openGL, optical flow, particles, qcplugin, quartz composer on September 3, 2010 by Francois WunschelFinally, the beta is out. Just on time for the weekend.
This will definetly mark a pause in the plugin storm emitted from this blog, as I’d rather focus on producing content now.
This plugin obviously features, among particle emission, lots of bugs too.
Sample files are included. 10.5/10.6 Intel. Download from the box.
No blabla or description, try it, eventually drop a comment, I’ll be happy. If you do kewl things with it, send us a picture or a video.
For those of you in Paris the 2nd of October 2010, there will be a particle-emitting scaffolding structure on the Saint Louis bridge. See you there. Or not.
