Box2d QCplugin | Cinder WIP

Last week-end we played Euphoria in Metz/FR, and felt the need of making a new track.
So I decided to give another go at Cinder, and tried -successfully- to make a Box2D Cinder-based QCplugin.
The performance is ok so far, with full mouse input/drag support.
The next step is to enable sound-synchro when the boxes hit themselves or bounce on the ground…
Here’s a snapshot.

some more QC-Cinder experiments

Just managed yesterday to get Image Buffer representation working in a QC plugin,
so I quickly fused it with my on-going Cinder-based particles plugin.
Now the plugin can emit particles based on some image’brightness (using motion detection).
Here’s a snap, and hopefully a release soon.
(and yes, this is me on the picture ;(

Quartz Composer – CINDER / plugin

Posted in experimental, QC plugins, quartz composer, software with tags , , , , , on July 23, 2010 by Francois Wunschel

There’s a big buzz on the internet about Cinder, a c++ framework for creative coding.
Some say it is much more complicated than openFrameworks,
so i decided to give it a go an check by myself if I could use Cinder’libs
to make some QC plugins.
And it just turned out to be much easier than doing the same with openFrameworks…

Here’s a snaphot showing QC running a Cinder-based plugin.
There’s actually a linker problem with the Boost library (with Cinder) that prevents me from using
ci::Rand functions, so I had to re-code Perlin-noise and Random functions by myself.
No big deal.
Stay tuned for more info, and a plugin soon.
